Seymour Christ Temple was originally founded by the late Rev. Dewey Allman. Rev. Dewey Allman pioneered the work on 607 Euclid Avenue in 1942. It was a time of great depression, yet Bro. Allman felt the call of God on his life to build a Church for the cause of Christ. Not knowing where the money would come from, Bro. Allman ordered the first load of lumber. When the lumber arrived, a precious saint in the form of Bro. Fleetwood, drove up to inspect the goods. "How are we going to pay for this lumber", he asked. Bro. Allman replied, "God will provide a way". It was then Bro. Fleetwood exclaimed, "I'll pay for this first load Bro. Allman". For these humble beginnings we give God the glory!! Seymour Christ Temple continues to be a church built upon the principals of faith in a God that we know cannot fail! |
