Christian Tabernacle's History

From 1953 to 1993

Elder Jordan was the man behind the plan in building two Sanctuaries both of which were worth over one million dollars each and were "Paid In Full."

In 1973, while Brother Jordan was on a trip to New York, the Lord spoke to him and told him that Christian Tabernacle would have a campground. It would be someplace that the saints the saints children, and grandchildren could go. Brother Jordan was able to purchase 143 acres of rolling, wooded land on the Morgan-Owen county line. This land included well known Porter's Cave.

The campground consist of a huge kitchen with modern steam-table. There is a huge dining hall, with a recreation area in back of kitchen. The campground has a modern concession stand. There are many trailer hookups for campers. The main feature of this area is the Tabernacle-Auditorium which will seat 600-800 persons. All of the upper camp area has been built by Brother Jordan and the men of Christian Tabernacle. They have built the seats in the tabernacle from the trees they have cut down in the nearby woods.
